LEADERSHIP IMPACT GROUP (LIG) MEETING

“From Enron to Innovation: Fireside Chat with Rod Husk”
Wed., June 18, 2025 | 5:30 – 7:00 PM
Lost Worlds Brewery, 1100 Metropolitan Ave, Charlotte, NC

Join LIG for a dynamic fireside chat with Rod Husk, an energy industry veteran whose career has taken him from the nuclear subs of the U.S. Navy to the turbulent trading floors of Enron, Koch Industries, and BP Amoco. With firsthand experience building billion-dollar power marketing businesses, Rod brings rare insight into both the past and future of energy.

Now serving as Program Director of Venture Creation at UNC Charlotte’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Rod mentors startups, holds patents, and plays a key role in launching high-impact ventures across the region.

 Expect candid conversation on:

  • The real story behind Enron’s energy trading strategy — and lessons for today’s entrepreneurs
  • Where capital is flowing in clean tech, energy, and infrastructure
  • What’s next for innovation in the Carolinas
  • How to turn career pivots into entrepreneurial success

Whether you’re interested in energy, innovation, investing, or just love a good business war story, this event promises inspiration and insights.

Come early. Stay late. Network widely.
