STATISTICS

Date …………………… January 2013
Project Funding ….. $23,500
Partners ……………… Rotary Club of Curitiba Leste, District 4730

DESCRIPTION

The object of this project is to buy a van to provide transportation to children, mainly from zero to four years of age to receive parental care by a step family.  The van will be used to safely transport these children on different occasions to school, medical or hospital assistance, whenever needed.

These children are taken away from their natural parents by the Municipality Tutelary Council, when it is detected that they are being maltreated and violence coerced.  They are then transported to the Associacao Caminho da Vida-Lar Dona Vera  (Road to Life Association – Dona Vera Home), by the S.O.S. Crianca (SOS Child).  The children are then sheltered by this institution where they receive routine care by volunteer couples who act as step parents.  There, they play, are fed, receive regular medical, educational and psychological support and care.

The Road to Life Association has a long history of dedication and responsible support to children in need.
