Dr. Tony Zeiss was proud to be surrounded by his family when the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce, the Business Journal of Charlotte and our own Rotary Club of Charlotte presented him with the prestigious – but well-deserved – 2002 Excellence In Management Award.   (Left to Right: son Brett, wife Beth, Tony and son Bryan)

Speaking of excellent leaders, seated at the head table were (l to r) Dr. Jim Woodward (Chancellor of UNC Charlotte and Immediate Past President of Charlotte Rotary,) David Anderson (Anderson Capital Consulting and current President of our club,) David Guilford (DLG Associates who introduced Dr. Zeiss,) Dr. Tony Zeiss, and Jeannie Falknor (publisher of The Business Journal and Program Chair of Charlotte Rotary.)

David Guilford commended Tony Zeiss for exemplifying management excellence and noted that ten of the fifteen recipients of the Excellence In Management Award winners have been from Charlotte Rotary. The Board of Trustees from Central Piedmont Community College were on hand to applaud the school’s winner.  In the forefront of the photo:  Jane Cooper, CPCC Board Member and former president and CEO of Paramount Parks.

Ed Kale (Carolina Income Management Group) gives our speaker his full attention … as do Alan Barnhardt (Carolina Raptor Center,) and John Belk.

Tony Zeiss kept us focused on his message.  “The key to leadership is strategic planning turned into strategic execution.”

Also seated at the head table were Kit Cramer (Charlotte Chamber of Commerce) and Byron Bullard (former prez of Presbyterian Hospital.)

Tony captivates his audience with his strong message on leadership and his versatile style (to say nothing of his quick wit and great presentation style!)

Helmut Deussen, Bryan Adams (Van Hoy, Reutlinger & Adams) Henry Lafferty (Lafferty Architect,) Rusty Brink and Powell Majors  listen and learn from “the master” … Tony Zeiss … as he speaks on managing and leading people.  All five men are club leaders and exemplary Rotarians.

The great triumvirate:  John Belk, Tony Zeiss and Billy Wireman.  No wonder Charlotte Rotary stands out from the crowd!
