Rick Jackson (WBT Gen. Mgr.), Gene Williams (recent Charlotte Observer retiree) and Doug Boyd (Bethlehem Center) enjoyed both the lunch and the program.  Doug offered a moving and most appropriate invocation.

Helmut Deussen introduced Kurt Scholler whose wife Cynthia sang for opera houses in Europe and at the Met in New York.

Jack Claiborne (UNCC) and Frank Martin (Landcraft Properties) both listen with delight as Peter Ridder fields Charlotte Rotary questions which have been known in the past as "direct and to the point."  This day was no exception ...

Bruce Darden (Charlotte Orthopedic Specialists) introduced Jennifer Klotz a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar who will spend the next ten months in Ethiopia in a specialized pre-med program.

Marilynn Bowler (Charlotte Hornets) and our speaker, Peter Ridder --- both Yankees who came to Charlotte and love the city.

Gene Williams and Jack Claiborne --- two perfect examples of the high quality personnel The Observer attracts.

Vernon Anderson (Anderson & Anderson) passes along our buffet line at Four Points Sheraton uptown where approximately 250+ Charlotte Rotary members gather weekly to keep in touch with "Service Above Self."  Martin Waters (Waters, Inc.) has been a Rotarian for almost half-a-century having joined in 1950!  And he remains very active and contributes to a variety of our projects.
