Dr. Nancy J. Fairley and Dr. David W. Martin (Davidson College professors and Rotary Foundation Scholars) joined us to inform us of their experiences in  So India and Ghana, W. Africa.  They were fascinating speakers and their stories captivated Charlotte Rotarians.

Rusty Brink (Presbyterian Hospital Foundation) presented our weekly Health & Happiness report, inclusive of a joke regarding a $10.00 bill that took our members by surprise.   In the background the unsuspecting head table participants Bobby Cockerham (Charlotte Tractor Co.) and Brenda Lea are listening to the good news about Don Sanders' recuperation from his broken ankle and Bill Kinney's recovery from back surgery.  Happily, both Don and Bill are doing beautifully and should be back with us before too long.

Rick Jackson (WBT AM & FM and WLNK) institutes a new weekly feature at Charlotte Rotary --- a 1-3 min. news headline update.

Bill Wood (First Presbyterian Church) stood in for our vacationing Charlotte Rotary President Worth Williamson (Did he not understand that during his tenure as president he can have no personal life???) as Anna Marie Phillips (Sr. Vice President of Manchester Partners International) officially becomes a member of Charlotte Rotary.

Immediate Past President Ronnie Pruett (Ronnie A. Pruett, Attorney At Law) and Henry  Bostic (Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office) may be discussing the arrest and imprisonment of Chuck Lineberry for challenging our intellect and quickness by leading us in a tenuous (at best) version of a song without singing the pronouns. 

Barry Miller and Bob Freeman were on hand to welcome back new (and former) Charlotte Rotary member Buddy Collins of the S.P. Phillips Co. who was re-introduced by Phil Van Hoy.

Gib Smith (Robinson, Bradshaw & Hinson) "chewed the fat" so to speak with Jim Kiser (Bank of America).

Patricia Baldwin (Hornets Nest Girl Scout Council) and Michael Elder (Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont) represent two of Charlotte Rotary's most respected organizations.

John Lassiter (Carolina Legal Staffing) and John Tabor (US Mortgage Group) get to know each other and swap business tips and quips just prior to the start of our meeting.

Ken Poe (Hankins and Whittington Funeral Service) and Freda Nicholson (Science Museums of Charlotte have to smile as Bill Wood gets in some good "shots" at the vacationing Worth Williamson.

The much admired Powell Majors, the esteemed Bishop Charlene Kammerer (Western NC conference/United Methodist Church) and the very popular Doug Fairbanks (Dilworth United Methodist Church) form an imposing and impressive triumvirate.

Two of Charlotte's best --- City Manager Pam Syfert and Anthony Fox (Parker, Poe, Adams, Bernstein, LLP) may be talking about any variety of city matters.

Katie Tyler (Tyler II Construction) welcomes our newest member Annamarie Phillips (Manchester Partners International).

Jeanne Swenson (BellSouth Mobility DCS) and Bob Johnston (Mecklenburg County Courthouse) are two of Charlotte Rotary's friendliest and most energetic members.
