Briley joined Charlotte Rotary in 1957 and served as president 1966-1967. Bostic joined in  1982, is reknown for his ability as a writer, and is currently chairman of our Rotary Reporter Committee which prepares reports of weekly meetings. Fretwell joined in 1979 (when he was Chancellor of UNC-Charlotte) and served as Club president 1994-1995. Ellis joined 1988 and is one of our best song leaders; he continues to serve on our Music Committee. Thompson (originally from Mount Airy, North Carolina) joined Charlotte Rotary in 1993 and has served with distinction on our Archives Committee (including as chairman for several years). Appleby joined Charlotte Rotary in 1987, was president 1996-1997, and is current chairman of our Projects Committee.
