   Leslie G. Berry, JR.
January 25,1914 — March 1, 2001

Charlotte Rotarian Leslie Graham Berry, Jr., passed away on Thursday, March 1, 2001. He was a native Charlottean, born here in 1914.

Les was educated locally and received his degree in structural engineering via correspondence school during the depression era.

In 1931, following the untimely death of his father, an early member of our Club, Les became active in the family business. Southern Engineering Company. After nearly fifty years of service, he retired to relax with his wife, the former Daisy Miller, now deceased. They were members of First Presbyterian Church where Les was an elder.
Les and Daisy had three sons, five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

Rotary played a major part in Les's life as he accepted the task of helping establish the West Charlotte Rotary Club, where he maintained 18 years of perfect attendance and was honored as a Paul Harris Fellow. Les joined us at Charlotte Rotary in 1981.

We offer our sympathy to his surviving son, John, and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A memorial donation will be made in Les's name to our Student Scholarship Fund.
