David Andersen presided over the meeting in the absence of President Jim. After David Anderson called the meeting to order, Katie Tyler introduced the guests. Thanks were given to Bob and Robert Freeman for providing their wonderful facility to the group.
The invocation was given by Bob Alexy.
President-Elect David Anderson explained some ideas for change that he will implement during his term as President. His plans were listed as follows:

1. Sandy Osborne does a great job for the Club. We load a lot of work on her and we need to manage her workload so that we do not overwhelm her.
2. Thomas Moore was recognized for his work with our music program. We need to "nurture" this program.
3. David would like to make sure that we have open avenues for communication throughout the Club. He encouraged members to share any suggestions and ideas with him and the committee heads.
4. The Club will have an executive management committee whose purpose will be to ensure a smooth transition of work in process from one president's administration to the next administration.
5. David has several goals for his tenure as President of our Club:

A. First goal, have fun!
B. Involve younger members in responsible positions.
C. Give benevolence function a complete review considering time and money given outside the Club. We would like to increase the level of volunteers and help codify all Rotary functions.
D. Reorganize all committees to five "avenues." The head of each avenue will have several committee chairs reporting through them. David then introduced the head of each avenue and invited them to explain their function and who reports to them.

Jim Adams will be our Club meetings chair. His subcommittee chairs were recognized and are looking forward to another great Rotary year.
Jeannie Falknor is the program chair. John Lassiter explained that there were going to be four different heads for the speakers and programs. Each person will be in charge for one quarter.
Luther Moore and John Phillips will co-chair the membership avenue. Luther introduced the chairs of the subcommittees. He also encouraged each of us to look for new members, especially up and coming leaders in Charlotte. He suggested we look at areas that recognized up and coming talent in Charlotte like the 40 under 40 groups.
David Zimmerman will chair the Club service avenue. He introduced the chairs of the subcommittees. David had four goals:

1. Inform members on how our designated outreach dollars are spent.
2. Seek input on how to spend our dollars.
3. Insure majority of charitable giving at committee levels.
4. Better organize charitable giving process. Create a form to process charitable giving to include a September 15 deadline.

Andy Zoutewelle is in charge of an avenue that will include "everything else." Andy introduced his subcommittee chairs and explained that the committees include: audit. Reporter, website, longstanding members, special events, fellowship and acquaintance.
Ron Kimbrell will chair Club education. This committee will inform Rotarians about programs and other activities in which Rotary is involved.
David Anderson closed the meeting and Harry Daugherty gave the benediction.
