ROTARY CLUB OF CHARLOTTE HOSTS FOURTH ANNUAL
“SCHOLARSHIP GOLF CLASSIC”
TO BENEFIT THE FAMILIES OF OUR PUBLIC SAFETY OFFICERS

In tribute to police officers, fire fighters, emergency medical workers and sheriff's deputies, the Rotary Club of Charlotte will raise scholarship monies for members of those public safety officials' families through the fourth annual golf tournament scheduled to be held on Monday September 11, 2006 at Cedarwood Country Club. Honorary Co-Chairs include Police Chief Darrel Stephens, Fire Chief Luther Fincher, Sheriff Jim Pendergraph and MEDIC Director Joe Penner.

Registration and practice begins at 11:00. The captain's choice format begins with a shotgun start at 1:00 p.m. "It is expected to be a sold-out event," says Charlotte Rotary member and tournament chair, Alan Adler.

The tournament includes lunch, reception, dinner, gift bags and mulligans; in addition there will be silent and live auctions and prizes galore. Members of all four public safety departments will be at the tournament as players and volunteers.

Sponsors are being actively sought through mailings and electronic messages to corporations and individuals throughout the Charlotte area. Businesses will have the opportunity to be involved by becoming a tournament sponsor, hosting a hole or donating prizes for the auctions. Entitlement packages range from a gold sponsorship at $5,000, silver at $3,000, copper at $1,750, tee sponsorship at $750 or tee signage at $250. Included with those sponsorships are varying degrees of foursomes, banners, ad journal advertisements, hole signage, special gifts, and recognition at the podium.
