ROTARY CLOCK TOWER

Past President Catherine Browning reads the inscriptions on the plaques that were inset into the clock tower

CHARLOTTE ROTARY CREATES A LANDMARK

The Rotary Club of Charlotte donated the clock works for the majestic stone clock tower on Little Sugar Creek Greenway at the corner of Morehead Street and Kings Drive.  The tower stands with great prominence in most urban section of the 15-mile greenway trail and serves as a landmark for residents and guests to our city.

The partnership with Mecklenburg County and Little Sugar Creek Greenway began in 2005 when the trail was in its early planning phase.   President Catherine Browning led the effort on behalf of the Rotary Club.  Her dedication, leadership and vision continued for the next four years until the clock was dedicated October 19, 2010.

The Rotary Clock on Little Sugar Creek Greenway is one of many community partnerships of the Rotary Club of Charlotte.
